Some pieces announce themselves the moment you put them on. I made these hoops for the women who have stopped apologising for taking up space - each hoop is cut from a copper sheet, shaped by hand into its wide crescent form, then hammered across the entire surface, blow by blow, until the metal holds the memory of every strike.
Copper has been worn close to the skin for thousands of years by women who wanted to feel grounded in their own bodies, and those who come back to me always say the same thing: they've stopped noticing what they used to notice.
These are some of the last earrings I'll make before I close my workshop for good. I hope they find the ears that are ready to be seen.
